Winter Baker's Rack

January can be a hard time to decorate.
The holidays are over yet spring is still a couple months away.
Winter Baker's Rack
Since we walk past my baker's rack all day, I like to keep it updated for the season.  Black and white seems to work for me during the transition from winter until spring.

Preserved Boxwood from Homegoods
Adding a little bit of green helps me look forward to warmer weather!  This is a preserved boxwood from Homegoods.  It's cute and virtually impossible for me to kill!

Lantern from Target
And adding black accessories give me a good excuse to buy a couple Target lanterns!

Black and White Royal Doulton China
I always look for a reason to display my Royal Doulton toile plates.  I never collected a full set since they were discontinued.  I still keep my eyes open for them online though...you never know!

Houseplant in white pot
And I am always thrilled when I manage to keep a plant alive.  This one has been really easy!

Wrought Iron Baker's Rack side view
I still love the side view of the shelves.

Baker's Rack decorated for winter
So this is how the shelves will look for the rest of the winter.

Kitchen Baker's Rack
I think we are expecting snow again tomorrow.  Looks like it's going to be a long winter.  I better refill that wine rack!

What are you decorating this time of year?

  1. I love your bakers rack. You are so right - it can be hard to decorate for winter. I go right for a Spring vibe. Winter can take it toll. I love the white and black theme. I am your newest follower on GFC. I gave up years ago on live indoor plants, so I am loving your Home Goods find!

  7. Oh, you know you don't need an excuse to buy those lanterns. :) You will be trimming that plant back because you can't kill it and it will take over. Send some snow this way. I would love one pretty snowfall.

  11. This is pretty much how I decorate for this time of year, too -- kind of subdued but fresh with pops of green. I think you did a wonderful job with the baker's rack. Those plates are stunning.

  13. How fun to have this little spot to change up on occasion! The boxwood is so pretty. My sister in law uses hers for holiday decor and jars of candy. So fun.

  15. I like your baker's rack a lot! Your plates and candle holders look great together. I've just redone my living room as I fuss around the house during this long winter we're having. I have a new post coming out tomorrow regarding it. I like that your bakers rack offers enclosed storage- what a great piece!
