Black and White Fall Table Setting with a Farmhouse Look

Last week I added a black and orange plaid runner to my table and had planned on turning it into a complete table setting.  But as I brought out some pieces, I changed my mind and I ended up going black and white instead...

Lantern with candle - part of my Black and White Fall Table

I recently bought this Food Network tablecloth at Kohl's.  The lantern is from Southern Living at Home (now Willow House).

It is a gorgeous fall day here in New Jersey.  I have the sliding door and all the windows open. Yes, that is Rosie way back there trying to make an appearance before the "Weekend Pupdate!"

Easy DIY Jute napkin ring
I made these napkin rings out of strips of jute and I wrapped them with some raffia. I think they give the table setting a bit of a rustic farmhouse look. You will see that jute again in an upcoming project. I am sure you are on the edge of your seat...

To dress up the table a little, I added some of my favorite china to the mix.  This is Royal Doulton Provence Noir which is now discontinued and I can't find pieces anywhere!  Don't even get me started on that...

The nights are getting cooler here so we are all set for a cozy fall dinner.

Enjoy the fall weekend everyone!

Have you had any cozy fall dinners lately?

Sources to get the look:
I have provided sources below for your convenience.  Please note that this post contains some affiliate links and I will receive a small commission if you make a purchase after clicking my links at no additional cost to you.

Checked Tablecloth - Kohl's, but if they stopped carrying it, this black and white checked tablecloth looks just like it!  Or you could just go with black and white checked napkins instead!

Dinnerware - Provence Noir by Royal Doulton (discontinued).  If you know where I can get more of these at a reasonable price, you will be my new best friend!  You could always go with this simple and elegant china if you still had your heart set on mixing in some fancier pieces.

Napkins - Homegoods but these black cotton napkins would work as well.

Seagrass Chargers - similar Seagrass Chargers

Wine Glasses -  similar wine glasses

Jute Webbing for Napkin Rings - Michael's but if they are out this jute webbing looks identical!

White Faux Pumpkins - Michael's or any craft store

Lantern - Willow House (discontinued) this lantern is also cute though.

Oh, and by the way, I am still looking for more suggestions on my upcoming trip to Charleston! Either none of you have been to Charleston, or I don't have any blog friends reading my posts...boo hoo...

I'd love for you to follow along so you don't miss a post!

  6. Beautiful table setting. I really like the burlap and black mix. I have that same jute stuff with red stripe and have been wondering what I could do with it! As for your china situation, I recommend Replacements.com--excellent source and good customer service. As for Charleston, check out those shops and restaurants along the old river warehouse area with the statue of girl waiting for her captain to come home. Thanks for sharing and inspiring!

  8. Black and white tables are always classy and make a big statement! I love how you calmed down the drama of the black and white by adding neutral and natural details! The jute napkin rings are so creative and very organic!

  10. I love the black and white tablescape and especially the jute napkin rings! About Charleston, I ususally walk King Street starting north of the Francis Marion Hotel and going all the way to the residential area. Many of the shops are high dollar but provide excellent browsing. Also, I go across the bridge to Mount Pleasant and visit Southern Accents and the antique mall next door. Take a good pair of walkimg shoes because it is a great walking city!
