Weekend Pupdate #8

It's been another fun week with our little Rosie!

Yes, she is still chewing everything in sight.
Luckily, we have plenty of these "bully sticks" to keep her busy!

She's been getting the paper for awhile now.  I think she originally did it because she wanted to chew the bag, but since we make such a fuss over her every time she picks it up, she now proudly carries it back to the house each morning!

Run Rosie, run!

She's out of her pen and crate most of the time.
As you can see, she falls asleep anywhere.

She hasn't realized she is now too big to sleep under these chairs!

Ridiculous!

Rosie, you are going to get stuck one of these days!

She has been sleeping really well at night.  Most nights she will sleep 7 to 8 hour stretches.  But of course Friday night when it was pouring down rain in the middle of the night, she decided to wake up and bark her head off at 3:00 a.m.  I ended up taking her outside in the rain and it was quite hysterical.  There she was, mid-pee; when she decided it would be fun to eat the raindrops.  She started jumping up in the air with her mouth open trying to catch them.  All I could think of was that scene from "Sixteen Candles" when the older sister is getting married and took too many muscle relaxers.  While the wedding guests are throwing rice in the air, she is jumping up, trying to catch it in her mouth!  So, at 3:00 a.m. I was standing outside in the rain laughing.  Not something you see everyday!

So now she is fascinated by the rain.
Sure, it's always fun to smell like a wet dog!

She had a few doggie playdates.
She loves Henry's pool cover.
Henry's parents are not happy that she keeps walking on it though!

She loved horsing around on the deck in the sunshine.

Doesn't she look like a big bully of a dog here?

She visited her "cousins".
A cockapoo...

And a golden retriever.

And enjoyed as much time as possible outside.

And that wraps up another installment of Rosie's Weekend Pupdate!

Did you spend time outside this past week?

A Feature and a Recap

First of all, I want to say thank you to Jenny from
for featuring me in her March Room Evolution Party!
Go on over and check out all the others!

I was so thrilled to see my beadboard ceiling
among the other beautiful rooms shown.
What a nice way to end the week!

We just installed my new light in the laundry room
and I love it.
I will show it to you next week
with a couple other tweaks I am working on.
(Hopefully I will get them done).
I'll show you everything at once
because I am sure you are getting sick of seeing that room
over and over again on my blog!

Anyway, onto my assignment from yesterday...
Did anyone get to watch
Rules of Engagement?

I didn't get too many responses yet
but I am sure it's just because you are
still recovering from all the laughter.
I'll give you some time to get a hold of yourselves!

Well, I must admit it was funny
but not the funniest episode I have seen.
But I do love that Jeff aka "Putty" from Seinfeld!
He doesn't even have to speak to get me laughing!

And David Spade's character, Russell
was just priceless when he was using that pointer
on the diagram to explain his whole process!
What?  You don't know what I am referring to?
You should have watched it!

I hope you are all David Spade fans out there like I am...
C'mon...Joe Dirt, SNL, Grown Ups, Just Shoot Me...
and of course, Tommy Boy!
Well, if you don't LOVE him like I do,
did you know that his brother is married to Kate Spade?
Yes...now you like him, right?

Or maybe it's just a hair thing for me...
Oh, Keith Urban you are so cute!

Anyway, the show was great.
We also enjoyed The Big Bang Theory too.

We have a busy family weekend lined up
but I will be sure to post another Weekend Pupdate
so swing by on Sunday to see more "exciting" adventures
with little Rosie.
(Although she is not so "little" anymore!)

What are your plans for the weekend?

Diving Back In

I'm diving back in...
Oh, I wish...
I would do anything to be in this pool now,
but what I mean is
I am diving back into Pinterest.

Let me explain.

For the past couple of weeks, there has been some talk about copywrite issues with Pinterest.  And there are issues because of people not reading all the fine print on the Pinterest agreement.

Then when I read an My Uncommon Slice of Suburbia post about Pinterest recently, I decided that I am not going to worry about Pinterest anymore and I will just delete all my boards.  I didn't want to be the unlucky person that they decided to make an example out of when lawsuits start popping up all over.  And for what?  So I could keep a collection of pretty pictures in one place!  Not worth it to me!

I didn't delete my account though, because I wanted to be able to sign on and see what all the people I follow were pinning.  So, if you are following me, you might have wondered what happened to my boards!

I will admit, I did decide to delete everything on a whim.  The way I make decisions can be very inconsistant!  For instance, when we bought our house, we decided in like 2 days!  We weren't even in any rush to buy a house and it was new construction so we didn't have to bid against anyone!  Yet sometimes I may take a week to decide on the purchase of a piece of clothing...or a light fixture!  Go figure...

Anyway, this quick decision to delete all my Pinterest boards made me have second thoughts.  And I must admit, I am just dying to Pin again!  The other day, Pinterest updated their agreement so I decided to be extra careful about everything I Pin this time.  I will take a couple minutes to make sure if I re-pin something, it is linked back to the original source.  I noticed so many times the re-pins just link back to someone's blog who may have mentioned them but the photo may not have originated from there.  I also read somewhere that one way to supposedly protect yourself is to make a comment on each thing you pin.  I know sometimes I didn't do that but usually because there was already a comment there to begin with...and I might have said the same thing anyway!  Does that even count as commenting?...Details, details...

So, that is my deal with Pinterest...
I'm diving back in!

Now where is that cabana boy with my Pina Colada?

Are you still using Pinterest?

Weekend Pupdate #7

It's Rosie time!

Here are a few highlights from the week:

She destroyed her cute toy this week.
How sad, since you can see how much she loved it!

She still has to sleep under these chairs.
Seriously, how can that be comfortable?
Look how huge she is getting!

And of course she tried to "help" out
while I decorated the mantel.

I had to get a shot of her checking out my new shoes.
She was very interested in them
so I have to make sure I don't leave them downstairs.

(You remember what happened to my boots last week...)
Nice, huh?

Rosie lost her first tooth this week.
The kids were very interested to find out
if the tooth fairy would come.
Sorry Rosie, since I think you ended up swallowing the tooth.
No tooth fairy for you!

Rosie played with a couple dogs
in the neighborhood again this week.
She is quite the social butterfly.

Other than that,
she had a an uneventful week.
Which I consider a good thing!

I had a very busy week with a couple school events
so I haven't gotten back to all your comments yet.
We are having relatives over this afternoon
but I will try to visit you all by this evening!

Have a great Sunday!
What are your plans for today?

March in New Jersey

This warm spring weather is just crazy...
and wonderful!

This is what New Jersey looks like this year - yesterday, March 23rd:

And here is a picture from last year on March 23rd:

Guess which one I like better!

What is the weather like where you live?

Spring Vacation Mantel

I finally got around to decorating my mantel for spring.

I just used things from around the house,
so the mantel ended up being more "vacation" than spring.

But since we usually take a spring vacation to the islands,
this mantel is "spring" to me!
It kind of says "Calypso in the Country"...
LOL!

I have had the Homegoods shell prints
laying around the house forever.
One was hanging in the dining room for awhile.
But nothing in my house stays in one spot forever!

Oh Rosie, are you trying to get in another picture?
She follows me everywhere!

You will have some glare when you have a cheap camera.

I did try to play around with the light setting a little.
I know...such a sad attempt.

You know, it was sunny and 75 degrees here today!
Happy Spring everyone!

Have you decorated your mantel yet?

Visiting the Kitchen

Today we are going to take a look at my kitchen.

This is basically what it looks like
minus the plants on top of the cabinets
that I removed recently.

Here is the eating area
when it was set for the

And my baker's rack decorated for

When we moved in
(1999) this is what the room looked like:
We used to have Corian beige countertops,
a black stovetop (for some reason)
beige appliances, builder white walls,
no window treatments or even grids in the windows,
no backsplash and a different faucet.

Not that this is my dream kitchen in any way,
(I would change the yellowed cabinets in a second!)
but as you can see, we added Uba Tuba granite,
tumbled stone backsplash,
(which my neighbor just informed me is now dated),
stainless appliances and faucet,
window treatments (which I want to change again)
and Monroe Bisque paint on the walls.
(My backsplash)

So, that is how my kitchen has changed over the years.
Since it is the room that I am in most of the day,
I am always wanting to change something in here.
If I win the lottery, I will.
I guess I would have to actually play the lottery to win though!

How has your kitchen changed over the years?

Weekend Pupdate #6

It's that time of the week again for the

Rosie update!

She is getting so big,
she can barely fit under my counter stools!

But why does she even try?
Because she is MY dog and has to be where I am.
I usually sit there when I am on the computer.

She sure has some crazy sleeping poses.

She is still stealing things from around the house.

She was working very hard
to drag this door mat from the back hall.
(Oh No!..Mr. Bill)

But the doormat wasn't the only thing she got a hold of!
(I needed some new boots anyway!)

She had another round of shots this week so
she was able to have
her first doggie playdates yesterday!
First she visited Henry, a yellow lab two doors down.
(He didn't get in any pictures...camera shy.)

Then she played with Bruno next door.
Lots of butt sniffing going on.

After a day spent outside
in the unbelievably beautiful weather,
she was exhausted.

And that was our week with Rosie.

Not much drama.
Great sleeping.
Barely any accidents.

I love this puppy!

How was your week?
