Laundry Room Reveal

This has been a crazy week
with my laundry room and downstairs bath tile being replaced.
I will show you how the laundry room turned out since the bathroom is not finished yet.
 Oh, don't get me wrong,
the tile guys did their job and are finished.
It's just that I couldn't leave well enough alone
and had a brilliant idea to paint the bathroom vanity.
If I EVER get done with that disaster of a project, I will show you that room.

For now, we will enjoy the laundry room.
As you might remember, this is what the tile floor looked like before:

The tiles were supposed to be white - yet always looked dirty.

Here is a shot as we were clearing the room.

A small setback by the door when we discovered rotting wood due to some water damage last summer.

They had to fix the sub floor before tiling.

The new tile is in!
Too bad it is not sunny today.
Maybe I will update with better pictures if the sun comes out!

The grout matches the tile really well.
They put in a special grout that resists stains better.
Hopefully it works because this room can get dirty!

I still have to touch up paint under the door and in some areas.
Oh, and I think I will change the door hardware!

Here is what it looked like before.
The Laundry Room is on top.
The hall is on the bottom.
(Could that grout be any dirtier?!!)

Here is a shot of the hallway on the left
and the laundry room on the right.
The laundry room picks up
the darker tones from the tiles in the hall
and they blend really well together
(much better in person - believe me!)
You might notice we replaced the "saddle"
between the two rooms from gray to tan.

Now I am thinking about changing this tub
to a real sink.
Will I ever be done?
Oh yeah, and I think I am going to repaint the whole room.
It seems so drab with the Ben Moore Providence Olive color now.

But for now, I think I will just enjoy the new floor!

Do you ever feel like these renovations go on forever?
I swear I will never be done with my house!

  18. I think you did a great job, the new tiles blend perfectly with the ones in the hall. And brilliant idea to change the "saddle" to tan! The whole thing looks almost like terracotta tiles, well in a lighter version! (Anyway, I am so jealous you got a laundry room - me I'm living in a small apartment, no room, sadly).
I am visiting from Debbie's party, and follow along now! :) Have a happy Tuesday

  19. Thanks for all of your wonderful comments! I am trying to catch up today so I will try to visit each of your blogs.

A couple of you mentioned putting a skirt on the sink...hmmm that is a great alternative to getting a new sink. My husband will love you for it! Actually it is a great idea because I love the deep tub sink now and I am sure it would be very expensive to get a real deep sink in a cabinet. Let's see if I can actually be creative enough (and skilled enough) to make the sink skirt myself! This should be interesting...

  20. Visiting from Debbiedoo's and so happy I did! I'm your newest follower. Love this laundry room!!
