One Room Challenge - The Office {Week 2}

All I have to say is...
Painting bookcases is not a lot of fun!

It's great to have the
One Room Challenge Linking Party at Calling It Home
to keep me motivated though!

It took me one day to prime them, two days to get the first coat on and another day to get 3/4 of the way through the second coat.  Today I am finishing them up but since we all need pictures...

Here is what my office looks like at the moment.

After I finish, I will let them sit like this for a couple days to make sure there is no stickiness left before I slide them back into place.  Whew - what a project this has become!

But I must say,
I am happy they now match the crown molding!

But the shelves were not the only progress I made this week.
I gathered up some blue and white accessories to add to my bookcases.

Some are old, some are new.  By the way, if you are looking for very inexpensive blue and white porcelain, check out Hobby Lobby.  I picked up a few of these there.  Oh, and the spheres are from Christmas Tree Shoppe.  They were only $1.29 each!

In addition to the accessories, my lighting has arrived from Ballard!
This is the large Carriage House Chandelier.

My electrician is scheduled to install it next Wednesday.
Hooray!  By "Week 3" you will get to see how it looks in the room.

So things are moving along.  My desk is due to arrive and my husband has to put together a chair from Ikea for me.  Other than that....it's just the last stretch of bookcase painting!

Stop back next week to see the bookcases in place along with the light fixture!

What's going on at your house?
