Christmas Mantel 2012

Recently, I hung a round mirror over my mantel.

I had all kinds of visions of how I would decorate the space for Christmas 
but I ended up liking the mirror by itself.
I kept things simple.

Just some garland, candles and of course
the stockings.

My kids reminded me
that we need a stocking for the dog this year.
I guess I'll have to go buy one.

These Pier One candles just move all over my house!

Here is what the mantel looked like
with a roaring fire the other night
which explains why I am out of wood in the top picture!
(That is part of my son and his DS player in the corner.)

So, the decorating continues.
Each day I get a little more done around here.

  11. Hi Shelley, we are seeing lots of simple in blogland this year I think. I know I sure went a lot simpler this year. Love those stockings, oh, and I will be checking back to make sure Rosie gets a stocking this year. LOVE that roaring fire. We have not had cool enough weather here for a fire yet. I can't wait!

  12. Your mantel is so pretty, Shelley! I really like the wood surround with the dental molding. I adore the needlepoint stockings! I wish my eyes and hands were good enough to do needlepoint. I used to do all kinds of crewel and needle work, but not anymore. I hope Rosie gets her stocking!
