Weekend Pupdate #12

This week,
Rosie spent most of her time
chewing things.

Luckily,
none of those things were furniture.
Just a few sticks...

And she even started carrying around
her old toy that came home with her
from the breeder.

She always had something in her mouth.

She also got a little stubborn this week.
This is what she would do
when I told her it was time to go out.

"But Mom,
I don't have to go yet..."

Then I thought it would be funny
to try to put a hat on her for the
Kentucky Derby.

She was not thrilled with the idea.

It fact,
she ended up trying to bite that too!

It wasn't until she dropped the hat
that I noticed the blood
from a newly lost tooth.
So apparently, all the chewing this week
was making her teeth feel better.

Oh Rosie,
I hope you are feeling better now!

By the way,
funny story on the Kentucky Derby...

My husband had planned to play golf late in the afternoon
so I spent the day
teaching my kids about the Kentucky Derby.
We also colored maps of Kentucky,
and did Derby word search puzzles.
Then we went through the list of the horses
and chose the names we liked.
Our choices were not based on the odds,
they were based on the names we liked.

Right before my husband went out,
I told him the horses we chose.
Get this...
I picked - I'll Have Another,
My older son picked - Daddy Nose Best
and the little kid picked - Done Talking.

Well, we all know who won!
It was so funny because during the race,
the kids and I were jumping up and down with excitement.
They were so into it
because they had spent the whole day learning about it.
Rosie got excited with us
and even she was jumping all over!

And ironically,
my husband ended up getting
"I'll Have Another"
in his golf pool!

I swear I am psychic sometimes...
Maybe I really should start playing the lottery....

Did you pick a horse in the Kentucky Derby?

  1. Aw...that little Rosie. She is so cute. They do loose their baby teeth and most dogs just swallow them. My little dog didn't though. I found tiny little doggy baby teeth all over the house - she was spitting them out! ;)
    Be a sweetie,
    Shelia ;)

  6. Aww, she doesn't look like a 'toddler' anymore, so grown up! I love her beautiful light coloring! Too funny about the Kentucky Derby, that's my strategy for picking, too!

  7. She is just too cute. Sounds like you should play the lottery. I watched the end of it and the replay. I forgot it was on until I turned the t.v. on after working in the yard all day.

  9. We didn't get to watch the derby this year, which is a shame as I guess it was quite exciting. Rosie is looking good, as usual!

  10. I didn't even remember the Kentucky Derby this year. It wasn't until my hubby told me who the winner was the next day. Too bad you didn't have a wager made!

Your little Rosie looks like such a sweet thing! I kinda miss the puppy stage and then again, not. If only they could stay cute and sweet acting, but have all the smarts they learn as they get older. ;)

  11. What a gorgeous pup! Rosie looks so sweet. My favorite photos are the ones of you trying to get Rosie to wear her Derby hat. (The puppy stage can be so much fun!) Thanks for sharing your precious pooch at our Rockin' Pet Linky Party.
